Baseball Game Preview: Carolina Academy Trojans vs. Palmetto Mustangs

Carolina Academy hasn't had much luck against Palmetto recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Carolina Academy has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Carolina Academy is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Friday. They came up short against Southside Christian, falling 15-0.

Carolina Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Branden Broadwater, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Broadwater has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Palmetto got themselves on the board against Christ Church Episcopal on Friday, but Christ Church Episcopal never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Mustangs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Palmetto's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13. As for Carolina Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-13.
