Basketball Recap: Concord Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Concord waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Homer Trojans 57-35. The Yellowjackets pushed the score to 48-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.

Concord's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Thorrez, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. Thorrez is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 46% in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bradie Lehman, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Concord smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

Concord pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points over those games. As for Homer, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Concord does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Homer has already played their next match (against Hillsdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
