Baseball Recap: Centennial Wins High-Profile Contest Against Canyon View

Centennial faced Canyon View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Coyotes came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 6-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Coyotes, who have now won four games in a row.

JT Price made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bobby Villa III, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. William Strand was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon View only managed four hits.

Centennial's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Canyon View, they moved to 30-5 with that defeat, which also ended their 19-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Centennial nor the Jaguars have any future games scheduled.
