Volleyball Recap: Colusa Falls Despite Big Games from Cecelia Mitchum and Cindel Oliver

If Colusa was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Clear Lake on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The RedHawks fell just short of the West Valley Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The RedHawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.

Colusa's loss came despite strong showings from Cindel Oliver and Cecelia Mitchum. Oliver had 12 assists and three digs, while Mitchum had three digs and two aces.

Colusa's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for West Valley, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coincidentally, Colusa and West Valley will both be playing Mt. Shasta the next time they take the court. The RedHawks will head out to face the Bears at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
