Basketball Recap: Holcomb's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Holcomb lost against Poplar Bluff back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Holcomb Hornets took a hard 53-35 fall against the Poplar Bluff Mules.

Holcomb's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-9. As for Poplar Bluff, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Holcomb will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westwood Baptist Academy at 7:15 p.m. on February 10th. As for Poplar Bluff, they will be playing at home against New Madrid County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
