Softball Recap: Snow Canyon Takes a Loss

Snow Canyon extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 9-14 in the process. They fell 7-3 to the Cedar Reds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Reds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 last Tuesday.

Snow Canyon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alli Beckstrom, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

As for Cedar, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

On Cedar's side, Sadie Parson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. Parson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Shaylee Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kaitlin Bulloch, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Snow Canyon has already played their next game, a 16-1 loss against Desert Hills on the 22nd. As for Cedar, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Canyon View on the 23rd.
