Volleyball Game Preview: Lancaster Red Devils vs. Mathews Blue Devils

The Lancaster Red Devils will take on the Mathews Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lancaster is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Rappahannock.

The win didn't come easy: Rappahannock scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Mathews entered their tilt with Northampton on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Yellowjackets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Devils have posted since September 22nd.

Lancaster's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Mathews, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Everything went Lancaster's way against Mathews in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, as Lancaster made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
