Basketball Game Preview: Spain Park Jaguars vs. Chelsea Hornets

The Spain Park Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Chelsea Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Spain Park has three straight wins, Chelsea has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Spain Park is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest victory since November 7, 2024 on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 70-47 margin over Bibb County. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Choctaws are ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Chelsea was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 46-45 to Scottsboro.

Chelsea's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Spain Park, their win bumped their record up to 11-16.

Spain Park couldn't quite finish off Chelsea in their previous meeting two weeks ago and fell 52-50. Can Spain Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
