Recap: Coventry Comets vs. Norton Panthers
After a string of three wins, the Coventry Comets's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They suffered a tough 75-53 loss at the hands of Norton. While losing is never fun, Coventry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Norton is ranked 145th).
Several Comets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reggie Edwards, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Meinen, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Coventry's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Norton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
Coventry will take on Ravenna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ravenna is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Norton, they will head out on the road to face off against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Springfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Wednesday.
