Lake Ridge and Mansfield Legacy are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Ridge has given up an average of 36.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Lake Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 63-46 win over Weatherford on Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Kangaroos are ranked 421st).

It was another big night for DeShawn Edwards, who rushed for 109 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 219 yards and four TDs while completing 85% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (137.3). Another player making a difference was Jaiden Cotton, who rushed for 146 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lake Ridge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Mansfield Legacy might've scored the first points on Thursday, but it was Crowley who claimed the real prize. The Broncos took a 30-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 6, 2018, but that streak is no more.
Lake Ridge will have to contain J-Uan Harrison Jr. as he made an impact in Mansfield Legacy's last game. He rushed for 158 yards and a pair of TDs. Mansfield Legacy is 4-2 when Harrison Jr. posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.
Lake Ridge's record now sits at 6-2. As for Mansfield Legacy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Lake Ridge has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 242.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mansfield Legacy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 182.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Lake Ridge suffered a grim 38-14 defeat to Mansfield Legacy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Broncos' Nathan Wilson, who threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 57 yards and one score.
