Basketball Game Preview: Scott Beavers vs. Colby Eagles

Scott hasn't had much luck against Colby recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Scott Beavers will look to defend their home court against the Colby Eagles. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Colby will be up against a hot Scott squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Scott claimed a resounding 72-28 victory over Larned. Given the Beavers' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Indians are ranked 233rd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jackson Rumford was his usual excellent self, going 6-for-8 to rack up 18 points along with eight boards and five assists. The game was his fourth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Alex Tarango, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 11 points and six steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Scott was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Colby, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Cimarron with a sharp 64-43 win on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bluejays recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Colby's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Scott, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
