Baseball Game Preview: Northside Methodist Academy Knights vs. Slocomb Red Tops

The Northside Methodist Academy Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Slocomb Red Tops at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Northside Methodist Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with nine straight defeats, while Slocomb will come in with three straight victories.

Northside Methodist Academy fell victim to Slocomb and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Red Tops, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Slocomb's part, not much got past Wyatt Reeder, who gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Northside Methodist Academy off the board. Reeder has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hayes Hatton was incredible, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Gage Gilland also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Northside Methodist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Slocomb, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
