Recap: Davenport Broncos vs. Central Cobras
After a string of six wins, the Davenport Broncos's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-43 loss at the hands of Central. While losing is never fun, Davenport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Central is ranked 121st).
Despite the loss, Davenport still got an impressive performance from Sorayah Emilien, who scored 31 points. That was a full 72.1% of Davenport's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Davenport's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
Davenport will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lake Wales at 8:00 p.m. Lake Wales is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Central, they will square off against Centennial at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
