Softball Recap: Eunice Gets the Win

After only two runs in their last matchup, Eunice made sure to put some runs up on the board against Jal on Tuesday. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over the Panthers. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cardinals' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Rylee Dillard and Isabella Pierce did most of the damage at the plate: Dillard went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Pierce went 3-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave Dillard a new career-high. Hallie Jones was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Eunice kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jal only managed ten.

Eunice moved to 8-12 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Jal, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-6.

Coincidentally, Eunice and Jal will both be playing Loving the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cardinals will host them at 11:00 a.m. on May 2.
