Football Recap: St. George's Takes a Loss

St. George lost against Lausanne Collegiate back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Gryphons were dealt a 56-6 defeat at the hands of the Lynx. While losing is never fun, the Gryphons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Lynx are ranked 42nd).

Tj Jenkins was his usual excellent self, throwing for 300 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes for Lausanne Collegiate. Jenkins' passing game has become a key predictor of the Lynx's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kam Davis, who picked up 145 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

St. George's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Lausanne Collegiate, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-3.

St. George's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 25-14 defeat against Evangelical Christian on the 30th. As for Lausanne Collegiate, they have also already played their next game, a 41-14 win against Northpoint Christian on the 31st.
