Effingham County posted their biggest win since December 19, 2024 on Friday. They put the hurt on the Savannah Country Day Hornets with a sharp 65-43 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Rebels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Effingham County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elyjah Doty led the charge by going 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and three steals. That's the most steals Doty has posted since back in November of 2024. Damion Gordon was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 13 points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Effingham County and bumps their season record up to 10-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Savannah Country Day, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.

Effingham County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-38 defeat against Greenbrier on the 8th. As for Savannah Country Day, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-46 loss against Toombs County on the 8th.
