Baseball Recap: Flanagan Beats Nova for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Flanagan barely beat Nova the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 8-2 win on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Hayden Welsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Flanagan is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-13 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Joel Herrera, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Christian Duran-Robinson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Flanagan's record is now 10-14. As for Nova, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.

Flanagan will square off against American Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Nova, they will be playing in front of their home fans against True North Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
