Volleyball Game Preview: Acton-Boxborough Revolution vs. Greater Lowell Tech Gryphons

The Acton-Boxborough Revolution will venture away from home to challenge the Greater Lowell Tech Gryphons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Acton-Boxborough made easy work of Waltham and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Revolution in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won four in a row.

Acton-Boxborough walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Greater Lowell Tech waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Golden Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gryphons have posted since May 9, 2024.

Greater Lowell Tech took Andover into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-13, 25-15, 22-25, 15-11.

Acton-Boxborough better keep an eye on LaDainian Loeung. He was instrumental in Greater Lowell Tech's win, getting four digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Loeung a new career-high.

Greater Lowell Tech was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Greater Lowell Tech's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for Acton-Boxborough, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Acton-Boxborough took their win against Greater Lowell Tech when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Revolution have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gryphons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
