Basketball Recap: Papillion-Lavista Skates Past Bellevue East with Ease

Papillion-LaVista posted their biggest win since December 30, 2024 on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 65-34 victory over the Bellevue East Chieftains. With the Monarchs ahead 34-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Papillion-LaVista got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sam Boudreau out in front who went 6 for 10 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave Boudreau a new career-high. Preston Avalon was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points.

Papillion-LaVista was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellevue East only racked up seven assists.

Bellevue East lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ammi Williams, who posted five points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was TayJon Morton-Swift, who scored nine points and six boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Papillion-LaVista and bumps their season record up to 8-9. As for Bellevue East, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

Papillion-LaVista will challenge Lincoln Southeast at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Papillion-LaVista knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Lincoln Southeast likes a good challenge. As for Bellevue East, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-51 defeat against Omaha North on the 1st.
