Basketball Recap: Centerville Tigers vs. Iola Bulldogs
Centerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Iola Bulldogs. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Centerville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeromy Rosales, who posted 15 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Rosales a new career-high in points. Amarius Phillips was another key player, putting up six points and seven steals.
Even though they lost, Centerville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Iola only pulled down four offensive rebounds.
Iola got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Damien Womack out in front who had seven points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Vaughn, who put up ten points and three steals.
Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Iola, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Centerville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-36 win against Mt. Enterprise on the 6th. As for Iola, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-46 defeat against Winona on the 6th.
