Football Game Preview: Floral Park Memorial Knights vs. Wantagh Warriors

Floral Park Memorial is 1-6 against Wantagh since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Knights will be playing at home against the Warriors at 11:00 a.m.

On Saturday, Floral Park Memorial came up short against Clarke and fell 22-14.

Meanwhile, Wantagh's offense rose to the challenge against a Seahawks defense that boasted an average of only 11.43 points allowed on Saturday. The Warriors strolled past Carey with points to spare, taking the game 41-23. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Seahawks: they've now won three in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Luke Martini and Joe Nicholson. Martini gained 183 total yards and two touchdowns while Nicholson gained 210 total yards and two touchdowns. Nicholson's longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards. Devin Paccione was another key player, picking up 53 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Floral Park Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Wantagh, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Floral Park Memorial was able to grind out a solid win over Wantagh in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 13-3. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
