Recap: Brighton Bulldogs vs. Wheat Ridge Farmers
The Brighton Bulldogs had to endure a four-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past Wheat Ridge 44-20. That 44-20 margin sets a new team best for Brighton this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brighton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laila Alexander, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Brynn Davis was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Wheat Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Julie Jackson scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Brighton's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Wheat Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Brighton will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Widefield at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Widefield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday. As for Wheat Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Allowing an average of 58 points per game, Mitchell has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match.
