Baseball Recap: Diman RVT Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Diman RVT got themselves on the board against Blue Hills RVT on Friday, but Blue Hills RVT never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 9-0 win. Considering the Bengals have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Owen Dorego made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Carter Perreira and Cam Falcon did most of the damage at the plate: Perreira went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Falcon went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Matt Almeida, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Diman RVT's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4. As for Blue Hills RVT, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Diman RVT is set to face off against their familiar foe Tri-County RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Blue Hills RVT will challenge rival Bristol-Plymouth RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 3.8, the Craftsmen 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
