Soccer Game Preview: Rudder vs. College Station

Rudder hasn't had much luck against College Station recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rudder Rangers will host the College Station Cougars at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, Rudder didn't have quite enough to beat Lake Creek and fell 5-4. Even if the Rangers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, College Station gave up the first goal on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against A&M Consolidated, sneaking past 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Anthony Peacher and Yonni Perez scored both of College Station's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

College Station has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those nine contests. As for Rudder, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3-1.

Rudder suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to College Station in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Rudder avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
