Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Flowery Branch

Flowery Branch lost to North Hall back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Flowery Branch Falcons skirted past the North Hall Trojans 72-69. The win was all the more spectacular given the Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Trojans are ranked 130th).

The victory made it two in a row for Flowery Branch and bumps their season record up to 7-9. As for North Hall, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flowery Branch will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Forsyth Central at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. North Hall will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Greater Atlanta Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
