Basketball Game Preview: Marquette Mustangs vs. Fatima Comets

The Marquette Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Fatima Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Marquette will be strutting in after a victory while Fatima will be coming in after a defeat.

Marquette will head into Tuesday's game on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lafayette on Tuesday. Marquette put the hurt on Lafayette with a sharp 64-38 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Mustangs have posted since December 30, 2024.

Meanwhile, Fatima entered their contest against California on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Fatima fell to California 53-47. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fatima's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-7. As for Marquette, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Marquette came up short against Fatima in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 66-53. Can Marquette avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
