Baseball Recap: Caldwell County Picks Up 15th Straight Win at Home

Caldwell County had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ballard Memorial Bombers a 10-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Luke Parker was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Drew Stevens, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Caldwell County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ballard Memorial only posted a batting average of .176.

Caldwell County pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Ballard Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Caldwell County will host Crittenden County at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Rockets at the right time seeing as the Rockets are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Ballard Memorial, they will head out on the road to take on Graves County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
