Football Recap: Castaic Takes a Loss

Castaic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 35-7 loss at the hands of the Golden Valley Grizzlies. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 883rd, while the Grizzlies are ranked 431st).

Despite the defeat, Castaic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Takai Bogan picked up 126 receiving yards and one score.

Even if they lost, Castaic's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Castaic's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Golden Valley, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Castaic will square off against Hart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Coyotes' defense better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 32.3 points per game this season. As for Golden Valley, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Valencia at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
