Volleyball Recap: Research Triangle Falls to Eno River Academy in First Game of Season

Research Triangle unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Eno River Academy Bobcats by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Raptors have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Research Triangle took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-11, 22-25, 25-11, 16-14.

Despite the defeat, Research Triangle saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kat Liquorie had 16 digs and two aces. Liquorie has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Research Triangle will welcome Carolina Friends at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eno River Academy, they will take on Triangle Math & Science at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
