Softball Recap: Legacy Longhorns vs. Durango Trailblazers
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy). Everything went their way against the Durango Trailblazers on Wednesday as they made off with a 23-6 victory. Considering the Longhorns have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Nadia Armstrong made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Armstrong was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Castellon, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Victoria Beebe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Legacy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .556 that Durango posted.

The win (which was Legacy's 11th in a row) raised their record to 18-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Durango, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
