Baseball Game Preview: Roaring Fork Rams vs. Coal Ridge Titans

Roaring Fork is 2-8 against Coal Ridge since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rams are taking a road trip to face off against the Titans at 3:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Roaring Fork came out on top against Gunnison on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run seventh inning. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 win over the Cowboys. The game was the first time the Rams have beaten the Cowboys on their field since May 14, 2022.

Meanwhile, Coal Ridge got the win against Basalt on Saturday by a conclusive 12-1. Considering the Titans have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Murray spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on zero hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Julian Perez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Coal Ridge is 6-1 when Perez posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Harlow, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Coal Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Coal Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Roaring Fork, their record now sits at 6-9.

Roaring Fork suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Coal Ridge when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
