Basketball Recap: Valdosta Comes Up Short

Valdosta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Tift County Blue Devils, falling 62-38. The Wildcats were down 46-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Valdosta still got an impressive performance from Lauren Bloom, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Bloom has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Christan Wright, who posted three points and seven steals.

Valdosta's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Tift County, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Valdosta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-39 loss against Lowndes on the 25th. As for Tift County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-48 defeat against Sumter County on the 25th.
