Volleyball Recap: Booker T. Washington Falls to Gulf Breeze in First Game of Season

Booker T. Washington unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Gulf Breeze Dolphins on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Booker T. Washington was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Gulf Breeze's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-13, 25-18.

Sarah Quarells paced Booker T. Washington's offense, picking up nine kills. Quarells got some help from Emma Ward and her 20 assists.

Booker T. Washington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Pace on the 21st. As for Gulf Breeze, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Navarre on the 20th.
