Soccer Game Preview: Buena Vista vs. Bryan

The Buena Vista Bison will square off against the Bryan Bears at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Buena Vista knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Bryan likes a good challenge.

Buena Vista picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-3 win over Millard South. Miguel Reynoso Jacinto had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Buena Vista got from the refs.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Bryan ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Burke, sneaking past 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Bryan were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Ezechiel Mufungizi, who's now up to four this season.

Buena Vista is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five matches. As for Bryan, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Buena Vista beat Bryan by a goal in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 2-1. Will the Bison repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
