Basketball Recap: BASIS Comes Up Short

BASIS lost against Calverton back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Red Giants took an 81-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calverton.

Despite the loss, BASIS still got an impressive performance from Timothy Chamberlain II, who dropped a double-double with 35 points and 11 boards. The contest was Chamberlain II's fourth in a row with at least 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ishmael Conteh, who shot 60% from the field en route to 16 points.

It was another big night for Chris Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 35 points and 14 rebounds for Calverton. With that strong performance, Johnson is now averaging an impressive 17 points per game. Another player making a difference was Donavan Harris, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 15 points and six assists.

BASIS' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Calverton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

BASIS wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 95-68 defeat against Idea on the 9th. As for Calverton, they have also already played their next game, a 68-36 win against Jemicy on the 8th.
