Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Navy Has No Trouble Against Wiregrass Ranch

IMG Academy Navy not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 7th. They blew past the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls 11-5. The result was nothing new for the Ascenders, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Omari Swinton was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for IMG Academy Navy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Eduardo Abuchaibe Florez, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

IMG Academy Navy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, IMG Academy Navy will square off against Aubrey Rogers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they will challenge Land O' Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
