Baseball Game Preview: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Granger Lancers

The Timpview Thunderbirds are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Granger Lancers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Timpview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Timpview wound up with the same score they had in their last game (9-8), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost five in a row.

Will Cannon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three doubles, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Jackson Davis also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Even though they lost, Timpview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Granger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to Northridge.

Timpview's record is now 2-2. As for Granger, their record now sits at 0-2.

Timpview couldn't quite finish off Granger in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can Timpview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
