Football Recap: Oceanside Drops Highest Score of Season Against Nokomis

Oceanside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 43-36 to the Nokomis Warriors. On the bright side, the 36- point performance marked the Mariners' highest-scoring contest to date.

Despite the defeat, Oceanside saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Wyatt Banow rushed for 217 yards while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Braeden Toothaker was another key player, throwing for 200 yards and one TD.

Oceanside's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Nokomis, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Oceanside will take on Oak Hill at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Nokomis, they will face off against Old Town at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
