Recap: Ponderosa Mustangs vs. Windsor Wizards
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Ponderosa Mustangs can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 38-21 to Windsor. Ponderosa's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Ponderosa still got an impressive performance from Sean Davis, who rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 42 receiving yards.
Mikey Munn was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 49 yards and a touchdown on only three passes. Munn was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Brady Lichtenberg and his 93 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Windsor's win.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Windsor's defense and their four sacks. Rylen Renton was especially locked on to Ponderosa's QB and sacked him twice.
Ponderosa's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Windsor, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Ponderosa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Windsor will head out on the road to face off against Montrose at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Montrose knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Windsor likes a good challenge.
