Basketball Recap: Mercy Has No Trouble Against Lincoln Lutheran

Mercy had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 24-point drubbing they dealt Lincoln Lutheran on Tuesday. Everything went the Mercy Monarchs' way against the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors as the Mercy Monarchs made off with a 56-32 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Monarchs had established a 20 point advantage.

Madisyn Grzebielski was nothing short of spectacular: she went 5 for 9 on her way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Soledad Peralta, who posted 14 points.

Mercy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

The victory got Mercy back to even at 6-6. As for Lincoln Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Mercy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-61 defeat against Gross Catholic on the 16th. Lincoln Lutheran has also already played their next contest, a 38-27 loss against Ashland-Greenwood on the 16th.
