Independence/Gilmanton starts season with victory on the road

Independence/Gilmanton had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Whitehall Norse 15-5. That's more bragging rights for Independence/Gilmanton, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
For Whitehall's part, Taylor Johnson and Addison Herman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Johnson scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Herman scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Harlow Foss was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence/Gilmanton will challenge Durand-Arkansaw at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Whitehall, they will head out on the road to face off against Arcadia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Whitehall will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
