CYPRESS, Calif. - After two lead changes,
Cypress (Calif.) took the lead for good when
Nick Buras thew a touchdown to
Quinten Pounds with 9:00 left in the second quarter and held on to beat
El Modena (Orange, Calif.) 47-21 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a Buras touchdown pass to Pounds in the second quarter, the Centurions led 26-14 at the half.
Cypress expanded its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Joe Chavez touchdown run.
Buras and Pounds teamed up to form a great passing pair. Pounds caught three touchdowns and Buras threw three. Pounds has now caught three touchdowns this season, while Buras has thrown three.
Cypress (2-0) will play a non-conference game against Los Amigos next week, while El Modena (0-2) will take on Kennedy also in a non-conference game.
