Softball Recap: Fort Bend Austin Has No Trouble Against Fort Bend Clements

Fort Bend Austin's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Fort Bend Clements Rangers 9-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-2 back in March.

Ioanna Avlonitis and Roxanna Ramirez made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Avlonitis pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Ramirez struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. At the plate, Avlonitis scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Ramirez went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Piper Murchison looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Zoey Hoh, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bristol Page, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Fort Bend Austin's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Fort Bend Clements, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.
