Basketball Game Preview: Toledo Christian Eagles vs. Old Fort Stockaders

The Toledo Christian Eagles will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Old Fort Stockaders at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Toledo Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Monday, Toledo Christian came up short against Miller City and fell 71-60. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, Old Fort waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They breezed by the Lakers to the tune of 90-25. The Stockaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 27 points or more this season.

Old Fort pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points per game. As for Toledo Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Toledo Christian against Old Fort in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 68-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Toledo Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
