Baseball Game Preview: Elko Indians vs. Dayton Dust Devils

For the second straight game, Elko will face off against Dayton. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dust Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Elko is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Elko not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 7-0). Everything went their way against Dayton as they made off with a 9-3 victory. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Dust Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Ethan Kraintz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Carter Kidwell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Coy Jones, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Elko was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Elko's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Dayton, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.
