Basketball Recap: Permian Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 17-17 at halftime, Permian was not quite Midland Legacy's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They lost to the Rebels on the road by a 43-28 margin. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Permian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gracyn Willard almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. Willard is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Permian's loss dropped their record down to 28-8. As for Midland Legacy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season.

Permian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-36 defeat against Franklin on the 16th. As for Midland Legacy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 27-26 loss against Eastlake on the 16th.
