Softball Recap: Jones Comes Up Short

Jones was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 6-2 to the Southside Seahawks. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Makenzie Maines made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Riley Murphy also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Southside, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7-1.

While Jones had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
