Preview: Cherokee County Warriors vs. Cleburne County Tigers
Cherokee County is 4-0 against Cleburne County since November of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Cherokee County Warriors will be home for the holidays to greet the Cleburne County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Cherokee County will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Cherokee County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 28 points or more this season. They blew past Oneonta, posting a 60-32 win on the road. Given Cherokee County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Oneonta is ranked 292nd), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Cleburne County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 71-47 walloping at the hands of Jacksonville.
Cherokee County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Cleburne County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Everything came up roses for Cherokee County against Cleburne County in their previous meeting back in February as the team secured a 64-14 win. Will Cherokee County repeat their success, or does Cleburne County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
