Basketball Recap: Stratford's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Maplewood came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Stratford, but Taniya Roberts wouldn't allow it. The Stratford Spartans had just enough and edged the Maplewood Panthers out 38-35 thanks in part to Roberts, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2023.

With the victory, Stratford broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Maplewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Stratford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-39 defeat against Hume-Fogg on the 9th. As for Maplewood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-22 loss against Trousdale County on the 9th.
