Midlothian put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the L.C. Bird Skyhawks get on the board and left with a 21-0 win. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lea Foldeneaur and Erika Fiege made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Foldeneaur pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Fiege pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Foldeneaur went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Fiege went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Fiege a new career-high.

In other batting news, Charlotte Corcoran was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Josie Renschler was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Midlothian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as L.C. Bird only managed two hits.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for L.C. Bird, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Midlothian is set to take on their familiar foe Powhatan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 0.9, the Indians 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, L.C. Bird will face off against rival Richmond High School for the Arts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
